Lumas Winds

Lumas Winds made their live broadcast debut on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune. Interviewed by Katie Derham, the ensemble discussed their recent 1st place prize at the Lyon International Chamber Music Festival as well as their upcoming engagements. And performing live in the studio works by Sally Beamish, Valerie Coleman, and Hindemith.

Lumas Winds are delighted to announce that they are the recipients of the Dorothy Parkinson Memorial Award for 2026. The award enabled the ensemble to perform at the HACS Harrogate International Festival on 23rd June 2026. “A prestigious award for the brightest young talents.” Read more here

Delighted to announce that members of Lumas Winds have won the 2023 Nicholas Blake Woodwind Ensemble Prize at the Royal Academy of Music! Thank you to adjudicator Alasdair Nicholson. Flo and Chris were joined by Beth Crouch on clarinet to perform Heitor Villa-Lobos’ Trio for oboe, clarinet and bassoon.
